Position Highlights:

• Competitive hourly pay rate: $28.00/hour – $37.00/hour (Based on experience; the hIgher end with /5+ yrs experience)
• Full benefits available
• Schedule: 1st shift (Monday-Friday, hours will be provided)
• Location: On-site in South Point, Ohio

About the Role:                                                                                              The Tool and Die Maker is a member of the Maintenance department with responsibility for providing hand-on research and technical knowledge to develop new products through modification and design of tooling and support existing products to promote the growth of the “Companies” products.
 

Safety, Health, Environment & Security: Ensure own work practices and environment comply with SHES standards Advise and participate in SHES monthly safety committee meetings and activities Provide leadership and coaching to employees to ensure SHES plans and standards are understood and met Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.

Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances.

Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts.

Measuring and marking metal stock for machining.

Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, milling machines, mechanical presses.

Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.

Filling, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish.

Fitting and assembling tools and die parts.

Inspecting finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities. Troubleshooting metal stamping dies to meet customer and quality expectations. Controlling consumable inventory for all stamping, shearing, threading, swaging, and rolling tooling. Coaching and Teaching operators on proper die set ups. Writing SOP for Die Set Ups

   

• Work within cross functional teams to enable new product development project success
• Execute various project activities in support of a defined product development process
• Design & execute experiments to evaluate and optimize the performance attributes of assigned technologies
• Develop an understanding of process capability, design selection criteria, and maintain relationships with existing and new tooling support vendors
• Maintain proper documentation of technical and experimental activities

 

Education/Experience: 

4 – 6 or more years of experience as a tool & die maker in manufacturing

Highschool diploma or equivalent

Journeyman's card or equivalent education
