Malone Staffing Solutions is seeking a versatile Component Purchasing Specialist for a global partner that specializes in automotive interior and exterior injection-molded parts, glass assembly, compression forming, and custom assembly, located in Georgetown, KY.

Component Purchasing Specialist Benefits:

*    Salary: $44,000-$50,000+, commensurate with experience
*    Direct hire position
*    Monday – Friday schedule

Component Purchasing Specialist Duties:

*    Responsible for all procurement activities for the Plant as related to component items 
*    Successfully manage a large supplier base, negotiating the best possible terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements 
*    Adhere to all safety rules and regulations 
*    Analyze and forecast demand for products and services to ensure timely procurement and optimal inventory levels
*    Evaluate and select suppliers based on criteria such as price, quality, service, and capacity
*    Manage supplier relationships including quality and supply issues, improving performance 
*    Acquire materials as needed to maintain production and pilot schedules, avoiding delays and outages
*    Maintain regular communication with Production to confirm weekly material requirements
*    Complete the internal supplier approval process to ensure all suppliers meet the requirements
*    Develop an effective and accurate system for creating and monitoring purchase orders
*    Direct cycle counts and other monitoring activities to ensure inventory accuracy and condition
*    Resolve disputes and handle returns to supplier in cases of nonconforming material
*    Assure all data is entered into MRP system and prepare various reports and forecasts as required
*    Demonstrate cost savings 
*    Keep continuous improvement in the forefront. Suggest, plan, and implement positive changes without prompting.
*    Maintain and improve housekeeping to ensure a safe, clean, and productive workplace 
*    Perform other duties as assigned
*    Success in this position is measured by: On-time delivery of material, material outages, premium freight cost, and material cost to budget

Component Purchasing Specialist Skill & Education Requirements:

*    Must be willing to submit and pass a drug screen
*    A college degree and/or a minimum of three to five years equivalent experience, preferably in the automotive manufacturing industry
*    Ability to use computers and applicable software (Microsoft Word, Excel) at a high level.
*    Ability to properly communicate to all levels of company employees to coordinate effectively
*    Ability to multi-task and successfully operate in a fast-paced environment
*    Good attention to detail
*    Strong understanding of procurement practices
*    Frequently in sitting position to perform duties at desk and on computer so must be able to sit for an extended period
